A doctor and his wife must face a vengeful ghost and an old curse that is tied to their house. NAKAGAWA’s use of both stark black-and-white imagery and gorgeous color photography shows his masterful ability to create suspense and atmosphere. He would follow up with two milestones of Japanese horror cinema: THE GHOST OF YOTSUYA and JIGOKU.
